KAYCE HUGHES
I'd like to introduce a brand-new sponsor of this blog, Kayce Hughes.
Kayce Hughes is a name many of you may already be familiar with as she is quite a presence online these days representing classic style. This amazing woman and the brand she's created have left an impression on me for quite a while. Kayce is a very talented designer, entrepreneur, wife and mom to seven children (who all look like models).
You need to visit her site and check out the classic styles she is famous for, all served up with a dose of refinement and a kick of spunk.
Kayce's charming store
adorable kid's clothes
nostalgic toys (this really brought back memories for me!)
and some fun and totally unique gifts, accessories and pieces for the home!
Please take a moment and visit her webstore. Kayce is generously offering all Annechovie readers a 10% discount on any purchase when you use the code "annechovie" at checkout.

Joss and Main is having an amazing Moroccan pouf sale and there are SO many great colors (35!!) It'd be nearly impossible to decide which one to get - at this price, you could get several. SPOTTED!
One of the best things about being an artist is the feedback and photos I get from the great people who buy my work. I just love it when a client or customer sends me an email with a photo or link to a photo of a painting or print hanging in their home or office. The above photo of my trifle print is from Charlotte, NC interior decorator Holly Hollingsworth Phillips who happens to love lots of color (just like me!) and creates beautiful interiors. Her business is called The English Room
She also blogs. Check out her portfolio and and blog here
Have an enjoyable Memorial Day weekend!
THE POST FOR TOAST
I couldn't resist posting this because ideeli is having an awesome sale on the Rolls Royce of toasters, Dualit, today. I loved this pink version, but there is a myriad of amazing colors, both brights and neutrals.

LOOK OUT BOBBY FLAY....
Here comes Sam.....
My nephew just turned 8 years old and is obsessed with cooking, and more specifically, grilling.
Here he is with his favorite birthday gift, a mini Weber grill and the requisite grilling utensil.
Need I mention his favorite entertainment is cooking shows on TV?
Is the Food Network impacting young lives or what? He probably has registered at Williams-Sonoma for his Christmas wishlist. A panini maker? A gelato machine?
To think I only got a chintzy 30 minutes with Julia Child once a week on PBS when I was that age....
Maybe one day he'll let Aunt Annie come on his show and peel vegetables.
MY PAINTBRUSH - YOUR LIBRARY
Are you a bibliophile? Looking for a gift for someone who is?
How about commissioning a watercolor & ink illustration of your favorite titles? I had fun painting this stack of 3 and am up to capturing a small stack or long line-up for you! Contact me here for more info and pricing.
MY HERMES BAG IN RUE
It was fun to spot a quartet of my Hermes bag prints in the current issue of Rue. They are hanging above blogger and design dynamo Valorie Hart's bed in New Orleans. Catch the whole story, starting on page 121 of the May/June issue here
The print itself is available for sale in my shop here
I also want to thank my fabulous friend, Valorie for the very kind mentions of my work on her delightful blog and her loyal support. She's been making the rounds lately and another shot of her NOLO home also appeared in House of Fifty this month (you can spot my orange chair silhouette canvas on the far right - below)
Hope you have a super weekend
and
Happy Mother's Day to my wonderful Mother and close friend and to all of you beautiful mothers out there!
WEDDING GIFTS?
Pictured here is St. Elizabeth's of Hungary Catholic Church in Denver, Colorado. I recently completed this painting for a client who wanted to commemorate her wedding here. I thought that was a beautiful idea! A painting of a church or other venue would make a wonderful wedding or anniversary gift that would really stand out and be cherished for many years. Please contact me here for more info.
PALM BEACH PRETTY
My favorite magazines these days are often the online versions, like this month's issue of Aussie mag Ivy & Piper. Funny that my favorite feature was a house much nearer my own location, right here in Florida.
like the pool area and amazing kitchen? Me too! Check out all the eye candy right here.
KITCHEN CHARM
I love this kitchen!
I found it on Pinterest (where else?!!) The brightly hued art against all of the white is stunning. I also gravitate towards the marble vs. the generic granite that everyone has these days. Granite smacks too much of headstones in a graveyard for my tastes and once any trend takes over 50% of the population, I am automatically tired of it. The absence of upper cabinets is totally refreshing as well - makes the kitchen seem more like a real room, don't you think?
I hope you have a terrific weekend and don't forget my Mother's Day sale is still on for a few more days! 20% off everything in my Etsy shop (except the pillows). Just type in code at checkout: MOMS20
TOILET PAPER EVALUATION
I hope that you're having a great week. After a very heavy work schedule, I am up for a little comic relief myself.
This sketch comes from the Doghouse Diaries and is another hilarious find from a few "down" moments spent perusing Pinterest, which happens to be one of my greatest sources of recreation these days.
If you can't see the text under the sketches, just enlarge your screen....I think you will find this humorous.

In the nick of time to ship before Mother's Day, I am offering 20% off everything in my shop, excluding pillows.

VERANDA AND HARRISON HOWARD
I was excited to see this gorgeous piece by my friend, Harrison Howard - talented artist and color master extraordinaire- in the current issue of Veranda. His work is truly unique and in a league of its own. This beautiful giclee is being offered on his site here. What a lovely Mother's Day gift it would make for the Chinoiserie buff or art lover.
Harrison is a delightful person, as well as a true master. You can read my interview with him from 2008 here
Have a wonderful weekend!
YOUR HAIR'S BEST FRIEND
I don't know about you, but my heat styler has become an indispensable part of my grooming routine for the last 7 years or so. I don't know quite how I survived without it! Here in this tropical climate, it's essential to keep my thick and wavy hair smooth and silky by sealing and smoothing the cuticle or to create curls and waves, all with one tool!
ghd is an iconic British brand that re-invented the professional hairstyling tool market ten years ago with the launch of its ground breaking styler replacing flat irons, straighteners and curlers with a professional styling tool designed for salon use that could also be used easily by women at home. This new ghd Peacock Collection is on trend for Spring Summer 2012, as striking iridescent finishes graced the high-end designer runways of Marc Jacobs and Chanel, whilst bold, gem-coloured hues featured heavily at Oscar de La Renta and Rodarte. The ghd Peacock Collection features three individual limited editions that form an iridescent injection of jewel colours; sapphire blue, amethyst purple and emerald green.I love the embroidered roll bag case, too - something completely different from regular heat tool cases.
If you're looking for some ghd straighteners or just some more information on them, you can visit their website at www.ghdhair.com

SOMEWHERE, OVER THE RAINBOW
How was your weekend?
Mine was productive with some work and a tiny bit of time out to re-charge for the coming week.
I just wanted to share this photo I snapped of a gorgeous rainbow that I saw over the golf course down the street. If you look closely, you can see another, much fainter, rainbow in the distance, off to the right.
The funny thing was that I didn't even notice it until I uploaded the photo to my computer.
Rainbows are always a reminder to me that beautiful things can come out of the storms we face in life and that, ultimately, God has everything under control, no matter how bleak and stormy things can seem at times. Genesis 9:13
Keep your eyes peeled for the rainbows!!
